Senior AI Engineer (Agentic Systems)
Dublin (Hybrid) | Long-term Contract We’re working with a global financial institution to hire a Senior AI Engineer into their Risk Technology team.
This is a hands-on role focused on building and running production-grade agentic systems that support critical workflows in a regulated environment.
It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys owning systems end-to-end, from design through to delivery and ongoing reliability, and who’s interested in applying modern AI patterns in a real-world, high-impact setting.
The Role You’ll be designing and developing agent-based systems, working across orchestration, data pipelines, and integrations with existing platforms.
There’s a strong focus on building scalable, reliable solutions and contributing to how agentic architectures are implemented across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and operate agentic AI systems using Python Develop agent workflows using frameworks such as LangGraph or similar Implement context management strategies for multi-step and long-running workflows Build and maintain RAG pipelines across structured and unstructured data Integrate AI systems with internal platforms via APIs and event-driven approaches Define orchestration patterns across agents and workflows, including async and human-in-the-loop models Key Requirements 5+ years’ experience in software engineering with strong Python skills Experience working with agentic frameworks (e.g.
LangGraph or similar) Strong understanding of context management and orchestration concepts Experience with RAG architectures, including embeddings and retrieval strategies Solid grasp of workflow design (state, retries, idempotency) Strong system design skills, particularly around scalability and reliability Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Nice to Have Experience with relational/NoSQL databases and vector stores Exposure to event-driven systems (pub/sub, messaging, queues) If you’re interested apply now, or contact Alex Leonard at alex.leonard@cpl.ie
