I'm working a fantastic role for a large multinational who have operations in Ireland and are building out this R&D division in Dublin.
They are looking for a Senior Java Engineerfor a permanent role.
Summary of the Role
This is a key delivery role within a new engineering team being established in Ireland.
The role focuses on R&D activity across award-winning financial services and servicing platforms.
The team will initially consist of approximately eight engineers and is expected to grow.
You will contribute to and help shape a shared product roadmap, working closely with global teams.
The role involves designing and delivering innovative features using agentic and AI-assisted techniques.
This is a highly technical position focused on application design, development, and execution.
Responsibilities:
Designing and developing new features and applications under your own initiative.
Using agentic and AI-assisted tools to accelerate the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Delivering and enhancing AI-enabled functionality within the platform.
Maintaining continuous professional development across Java, AI, and cloud technologies.
Ensuring all work, including agent-generated code, is developed to a high standard and aligned with best practices.
Requirements:Experience: 8-10 years software development experience.
Domain Expertise: Experience developing software platforms, ideally within the insurance or financial services domain (e.g., Life & Pensions or Annuities).
Technical Skills: Experience with low-code/no-code platforms and systems involving rules engines or workflow management solutions.
Specialised Knowledge: Exposure to document management, reporting/dashboards, and data warehousing platforms.
Education: Educated to degree level in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering/scientific discipline.
