What you'll be doing

Platform Engineer role in Dublin (hybrid) with a focus on building and scaling cloud infrastructure for AI-powered products. Work on Google Cloud, automation, CI/CD, observability, and platform engineering to support engineering teams and enable rapid product development.

  • Build, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure for AI and software engineering workloads
  • Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and automation technologies
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application, infrastructure, and platform deployments
  • Improve platform reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, secrets management, and operational best practices
  • Support AI and machine learning workloads by maintaining the underlying cloud platform and deployment environments
  • Collaborate with software engineers to deliver a self-service platform
  • Contribute to platform standards, cloud governance, security, and engineering best practices
  • Continuously improve automation, scalability, performance, and developer experience

Key requirements

Must-have

  • 3–5 years' experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with a major public cloud platform
  • Commercial experience building and managing infrastructure-as-code, ideally using Terraform
  • Experience designing and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Good scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, and infrastructure best practices
  • Experience supporting highly available, scalable production environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Exposure to MLOps, AI platforms, or machine learning infrastructure
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering tooling
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerisation, or cloud-native technologies
  • Experience in AI, media, digital content, or high-growth technology environments

Platform Engineer Dublin | Hybrid Cpl Recruitment are partnering with a leading international organisation to appoint a Platform Engineer to join its growing AI engineering team in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a cloud-focused engineer to help build and scale the platform that underpins a new generation of AI-powered products.

Working within a modern Google Cloud environment, you'll play a key role in developing secure, scalable infrastructure, improving developer experience, and enabling engineering teams to deliver AI applications efficiently and reliably.

You'll work across cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, observability, and platform engineering, helping establish the technical foundations for a rapidly expanding engineering function.

Responsibilities Build, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure to support modern AI and software engineering workloads.

Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and other automation technologies.

Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application, infrastructure, and platform deployments.

Improve platform reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, secrets management, and operational best practices.

Support AI and machine learning workloads by maintaining the underlying cloud platform and deployment environments.

Collaborate closely with software engineers to deliver a self-service platform that enables rapid product development.

Contribute to platform standards, cloud governance, security, and engineering best practices.

Continuously improve automation, scalability, performance, and developer experience across the engineering environment.

Requirements

3–5 years' commercial experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.

Strong hands-on experience with a major public cloud platform, with Google Cloud experience highly desirable.

Commercial experience building and managing infrastructure-as-code, ideally using Terraform.

Experience designing and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Good scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar technologies.

Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management (IAM), security, and infrastructure best practices.

Experience supporting highly available, scalable production environments.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Desirable Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Exposure to MLOps, AI platforms, or machine learning infrastructure.

Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering tooling.

Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerisation, or cloud-native technologies.

Experience working within AI, media, digital content, or high-growth technology environments.
