Software Engineer (Java & DevOps / Infrastructure)
We are looking for a versatile Software Engineer with a strong background in Java development who is comfortable with DevOps and infrastructure as well.
While you will utilize your Java / Spring Boot / Oracle development background to help us build new tools, systems and features/functionality, you will spend a some of your time building CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure upgrades, and strictly controlling our environments.
You will be responsible for ensuring that both our code and our infrastructure move safely and seamlessly all the way from Development through to Production. 6 month contract to start with but expected to roll/extend3 days onsite in Dublin location*550-650 ideally but can go higher for the right candidate (potentially to 700/750) Key Responsibilities: Utilize a full stack Java technology stack to support application and tool development Design, implement, and maintain robust build and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Ansible, and Ansible Tower.
Hands-on execution of critical infrastructure projects, currently including upgrading Windows Servers and upgrading NoSQL databases on Linux servers.
Take ownership of our environment lifecycle.
Code and infrastructure must be managed tightly and promoted safely from Dev, through QA/Staging, and into Prod.
Work confidently across a hybrid ecosystem of both Windows and Linux environments, ensuring high availability and configuration consistency.
Requirements
Strong professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, Oracle and the software development lifecycle.
Ideally this will include UI development experience too.
Hands-on experience building deployment pipelines with Jenkins and configuration management/automation using Ansible / Ansible Tower.
Comfortable navigating and administering both Windows Server and Linux environments.
