Senior Software Engineer

Daily Rate Contract

📍 Ireland | Remote | No sponsorship | Must be based in Ireland

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team building products used by millions of users globally. This is an opportunity to work on complex technical challenges, influence architecture and collaborate with experienced engineers in a fast-paced, product-led environment.

You'll play a key role in designing, building and scaling critical services while mentoring teammates and driving engineering best practices across the team.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable software across both backend and frontend technologies.

  • Build and enhance mission-critical services supporting global payment and tax functionality.

  • Lead the delivery of technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers and engineers to deliver high-quality features.

  • Review architecture, designs and code, helping to raise engineering standards across the team.

  • Deploy code frequently through a modern continuous deployment environment.

  • Build robust monitoring, logging and observability into the services you develop.

  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer in a modern product engineering environment.

  • Commercial experience building scalable backend services.

  • Experience with PHP, **

JavaScript** and **

React** (or similar modern web technologies).

  • Passion for clean code, software design and engineering best practices.

  • Experience with code reviews, testing and continuous delivery.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working within cross-functional teams.
