  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience developing event-driven applications using JMS or Kafka
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Fitnesse, or Karate
  • Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Domain knowledge of trading and trading technologies, especially FinTech protocols such as FIX

The Role

As a Software Engineer on the Equity Trading Technology team, you will have the opportunity help design and develop high-quality software for sophisticated trading products. You will help build complex new trading capabilities to expand and enhance the common trading platform used across multiple asset classes within our client's Asset Management business unit. The trading platform is at the heart of one of the 2026 Top 25 programs across this business, with high visibility at senior leadership levels. We are looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for delivering innovative products and services to help build and support this critical platform!

  • You will help design, build and support mission-critical enterprise software applications.
  • You will help define product solutions by working directly with business and product teams.
  • You will actively participate in good engineering practices and standards.
  • You will work with the team to continuously improve our software engineering craft.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, developing and testing backend services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience developing event driven applications using JMS or Kafka (preferred)
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Fitnesse or Karate (preferred)
  • Experience working with Relational Databases (Oracle & PL/SQL preferred)
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (preferred), Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
  • Domain knowledge of Trading and Trading technologies is an advantage. Particularly exposure to FinTech protocols such as Financial Information eXchange (FIX)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
