We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to work as part of a team within our client's Asset Management Technology group. The team is responsible for designing, developing & implementing products for the Strategic Advisors Managed Accounts division with a focus on building and deploying applications on AWS.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about engineering excellence and technology innovation. If you habitually write clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code, we want you on our team! Your expertise should include:

  • Proficiency with middleware Java stack, messaging technologies, and web containers such as Spring Boot and Kafka.
  • Experience with client-side technologies like HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, Angular, and NGRX.
  • Familiarity with Agile software delivery environments, cloud deployment strategies such as Kubernetes/AWS and continuous integration/continuous delivery tools such as Jenkins.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental design principles to compose scalable applications.
  • A deep passion for object-oriented programming.

In this role, you will actively contribute to the code base while collaborating with a diverse team and our business partners. Your critical thinking skills will be important as you translate stories and use cases into applications and features that give the business a strategic edge.

Your ability to write client and service layer code proficiently, maintaining high quality and passion, is crucial. You will deliver maintainable, extensible, reusable, and performant solutions, adapting quickly and following a process that emphasises testing acceptance criteria first. You will identify and address bottlenecks and issues, commit to collaborative problem-solving, and effectively communicate. Additionally, you will have experience with diverse architectures from monolithic to microservice-based.

You will lead the development and implementation of software solutions aligned with the program’s strategic goals. Your tasks include application development, joining design and code reviews, and fully engaging in product quality efforts like building test cases and regression testing. You will also help improve engineering procedures in ATDD and CI/CD and collaborate with a distributed team of developers to establish standards for software engineering.
