Cisco Network Engineer – 12 Month Day Rate Contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cisco Network Engineer to provide day-to-day operational support across the DCC/DETE Cisco network environments. This is a key technical role, supporting the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical network infrastructure.
The successful candidate will work closely with DCC/DETE ICT teams, providing expert technical support, assisting with incident resolution, and contributing to network-related projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day operational support across the DCC/DETE Cisco network environments.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents in line with agreed service targets and SLAs.

Act as a key technical point of contact for DCC/DETE ICT teams on Cisco networking matters.

Support the delivery of network infrastructure projects, upgrades, changes, and improvements.
-
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, escalating to appropriate teams or vendors where required.

Manage technical escalations to Cisco, ensuring issues are clearly documented and progressed through to resolution.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, configurations, procedures, and technical records.

Work collaboratively with ICT teams and other technical stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

Follow established change, incident, problem, and service management processes.

Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with agreed operational procedures, service targets, and security requirements.

Contribute to the ongoing improvement, resilience, and performance of the network environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience supporting Cisco network environments and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network incidents within a structured IT service environment.
