What you'll be doing
Platform Engineer (Hybrid, Dublin) for a financial services org. Join a cloud engineering team to design, build, and automate secure AWS infrastructure. Focus on infrastructure as code, cloud networking, security, CI/CD, and cloud-native practices. Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams.
- Design, build and maintain secure, highly available AWS infrastructure
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment processes
- Contribute to CI/CD and GitOps-based delivery practices
- Design and implement secure cloud networking, including DNS, firewalls, load balancing and proxy solutions
- Support AWS identity, access management, security controls and governance
- Help develop and maintain multi-account AWS environments and cloud landing zones
- Work with engineering and security teams to ensure cloud solutions meet architectural and security standards
Key requirements
Must-have
- At least 5 years' experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or SRE
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on AWS experience
- Strong experience designing and supporting production-grade cloud infrastructure
- Excellent understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM and governance
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies including DNS, firewalls, load balancers and proxies
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform
- Experience developing automation using Python, Go, Shell or a similar language
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies
Nice-to-have
- Background working within financial services, fintech or another highly regulated environment
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk or Dynatrace, alongside AWS-native monitoring services
- Experience improving cloud infrastructure from both a cost and performance perspective
- Experience supporting large-scale or complex AWS environments
- Involvement in open-source projects or wider cloud engineering communities
Experience: At least 5 years' experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or SRE; minimum 3 years' hands-on AWS experience

About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join a cloud engineering team responsible for developing secure, reliable and scalable infrastructure supporting business-critical digital platforms. The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience across AWS, cloud networking, infrastructure automation and security. You will play an important role in designing and maintaining cloud environments, improving deployment processes and helping engineering teams adopt robust cloud-native practices. Working closely with engineering, security and operations colleagues, you will contribute to the ongoing development of a modern, highly automated cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain secure, highly available AWS infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment processes.
- Contribute to CI/CD and GitOps-based delivery practices.
- Design and implement secure cloud networking, including DNS, firewalls, load balancing and proxy solutions.
- Support AWS identity, access management, security controls and governance.
- Help develop and maintain multi-account AWS environments and cloud landing zones.
- Work with engineering and security teams to ensure cloud solutions meet appropriate architectural and security standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve the scalability, reliability, security and cost efficiency of cloud environments.
- Contribute to the development of cloud engineering standards and best practices.
Candidate Profile:
- At least 5 years' experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or SRE.
- Minimum 3 years' hands-on AWS experience.
- Strong experience designing and supporting production-grade cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent understanding of AWS networking, security, IAM and governance.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies including DNS, firewalls, load balancers and proxies.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform.
