Platform Engineer - Market Risk Technology
Global Financial Services Client | Contract | Excellent Daily Rates Our client, a leading global financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join its Market Risk Technology team on a contract basis.
This role sits at the heart of a major platform modernisation and remediation programme, focused on technology upgrades, vulnerability management, operational risk reduction, and engineering improvements across critical Market Risk systems.
Key Responsibilities
Drive remediation initiatives including vulnerabilities, EOL/NPT upgrades, compliance actions, key rotation, and technology currency programmes Coordinate delivery across development, infrastructure, database, security, governance, QA, and production support teams Contribute hands-on to platform engineering, application modernisation, automation, and integration projects Track risks, dependencies, milestones, release plans, and closure activities Ensure robust testing, rollback procedures, validation, and audit evidence are completed Provide clear updates to senior stakeholders on programme status, risks, and escalations Support platform stability, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives Required Experience Strong Platform Engineering experience within large enterprise environments Proven track record delivering remediation, upgrade, and modernisation programmes Hands-on development experience with: Java Spring / Spring Boot Python REST APIs React Experience with microservices and modern application architecture Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to drive delivery across multiple teams and workstreams Technical Environment Java, Spring Boot, Python React DB2, SQL Server Linux / Unix Apache, Tomcat Ansible, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines Monitoring and logging platforms Desirable Financial Services or Capital Markets experience Market Risk technology exposure Experience with Sailfish, CloudRack or Quartz Application modernisation programmes AI-enabled engineering practices Platform upgrade leadership experience What's on Offer Excellent daily rates Contract role with a global financial services organisation High-profile Market Risk technology programme Significant exposure to modernisation and transformation initiatives Hybrid working environment If you're a senior Platform Engineer with strong Java/Python expertise and experience delivering complex remediation and modernisation programmes, we'd be keen to hear from you.
