What you'll be doing

Principal AI Engineer for a global reinsurance company in Dublin. Own and architect the next-generation AI platform, focusing on agentic AI at enterprise scale. Lead technical direction, set engineering standards, and collaborate with senior engineers while remaining hands-on with architecture and production systems.

  • Architect and evolve the production AI platform, including deployment, reliability, observability, and lifecycle management for agentic and conventional ML systems
  • Engineer and standardise CI/CD, environment management, and release processes for ML models and agentic services
  • Design and integrate MCP servers and A2A-based agent communication for scalable agent orchestration
  • Drive production excellence through MLOps/LLMOps, observability, evaluation, monitoring, alerting, drift detection, and rollback strategies
  • Lead technical direction across the AI engineering function and partner with data science leadership on architectural decisions

Key requirements

  • 8+ years of Machine Learning experience using Python
  • Experience with A2A (Agent 2 Agent Protocol)
  • Experience in fast-paced, greenfield environments
  • Azure or AWS experience

The Opportunity

A Global Reinsurance company is investing heavily in the next phase of its AI transformation, moving beyond experimentation to build AI capabilities that can operate reliably at enterprise scale.

With agentic AI becoming a core part of its technology strategy, this is an opportunity to join at a pivotal point and help turn ambitious AI concepts into production-ready platforms that deliver genuine business impact.

You’ll become the most senior engineering voice within the AI function and the technical owner of the agent platform, setting the architecture and engineering standards for how agentic and conventional ML systems are built, deployed, monitored and operated.
